Forget flowers and chocolates… if you really want to do something special for your loved one this Valentine’s Day, then why not take them for a romantic night together at a fantastic hotel?
If you’re thinking you can’t afford it with money so tight then think again – because this is a great time to capitalise on some brilliant travel and holiday voucher codes.
Hotel offers
The Carlton Hotel chain has issued several new offers and deals through voucher code website Moneysaver.ie – meaning you can enjoy a Valentine’s Day getaway for less.
Among the offers is a room sale – with rooms starting from only €49. You can also keep your loved one happy with a special Valentine’s offer in a luxury hotel with two nights’ bed and breakfast and one evening meal with a 2pm late check-out the next day. Other offers and deals from the Carlton Hotel Group include treating yourself to a break away at one of 10 Carlton Hotels in Ireland for just €111 with the second night knocked down to €11. Or you could get two nights with bed and breakfast and enjoy a delicious gourmet meal for two for free. Be aware that all of these offers and deals expire on Wednesday, February 29.
Of course the Carlton Hotel Group isn’t the only company offering significant reductions on getaways at this time of year. For example, Easy Click Travel currently has offers ranging from four and five star hotels from less than €100 a night up to 50 per cent off your travel if you use the Easy Click Travel website. Check out the travel and holiday voucher codes section for great deals.
More hotel savings
Regardless of when you’re planning to travel this year, make sure you take a thorough approach to booking hotels online to ensure you get a competitive deal.
For example, never assume that hotel prices are fixed as if you book in the right place you can make substantial savings. Start with the hotel’s own website and see if it has any exclusive offers – such as three for two nights deals; check Moneysaver.ie for travel and holiday related voucher codes; and then use a comparison website to see if there are any cheaper deals available through travel company websites – for example, if you’re travelling abroad, you may save by booking a package holiday instead of booking a hotel and flight separately.
When booking, always check to see if taxes are included in the price and be careful not to add on extras such as travel insurance which can be bought for less separately.
