Game On For Ireland And Game On For Money Off

Game On For Ireland And Game On For Money Off

by Mr. Moneysaver · Dec 5, 2013

The Irish gaming industry is once again in the headlines with studios and publishers keen to maintain their presence in the country. However, it’s not just employees that are reaping rewards – because customers too can take advantage of a host of video game voucher codes in the lead up to Christmas.

Fingers on the buttons

Ireland has established itself at the epicentre of the gaming world with games giant Zynga arriving in the country and rival PopCap continuing to grow its Irish presence. Meanwhile, Blizzard, the name behind World of Warcraft, has expanded its staff; while middleware developer Havok has opened another international office. This at a time when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 managed to make an astonishing $775million within just three days of going on sale.

Plans for further expansion continue with Forfas, the state’s policy advisory board for the Department of Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation, publishing an “action plan for growth” in the games industry. It outlined both short- and long-term goals and suggestions on how to achieve them, including: increasing awareness of the games industry among students; and the introduction of game-based learning.

At a Press Play panel discussion at Filmbase in Dublin’s Temple Bar, professionals in the sector outlined that the games industry is there for the taking; but that getting ahead may rely as much on luck and persistence as it will on talent. Studios’ creative hubs have yet to breakthrough in Los Angeles, Japan and France and it seems that unless you’re already in the industry, then the effort to get involved may not be worth any realistic long-term reward.

Video game voucher codes

While the Irish gaming industry may be enjoying an upswing in fortunes, it is Irish gaming customers that should really be rubbing their hands.

With Christmas approaching, video games will once again be at the top of many lists – and thankfully there are significant savings to be made with the video game voucher codes available at Moneysaver.ie. For example, the Irish voucher code website is currently listing a host of Game offers including killer console deals through the Killer Deals Hub; and free UK delivery on all orders.

Meanwhile, there is a section devoted to music, movies and gaming voucher codes. Among the voucher codes available there are: spend £80 and save £8 at The Hut; €5 off on all orders at Pixmania Ireland; 15 per cent off with $100 orders at Dino Direct; and more. Check back regularly for the latest listings including voucher codes from the likes of: HMV Ireland, Play.com, Amazon.co.uk, Gamestation, Simply Games, The Game Collection and iTunes Ireland – just search for the retailer you’re interested in to see what’s available.
