Brewing Up With Bargains

Brewing Up With Bargains

by Mr. Moneysaver · May 4, 2012

There were some frothy results for hotels and restaurant group Whitbread, which enjoyed an 11 per cent increase in its full-year profits – largely thanks to the success of its Costa coffee brand.

However, if you don’t want to spend big on trips to Costa, Starbucks and other big-name coffee chains, you could pick up a bargain on quality coffee in the comfort of your own home – courtesy of the food and drink voucher codes at Moneysaver.ie.

Stirring success

The nation’s caffeine obsession continued with Whitbread reporting profits of £320.1million – helped largely by Costa’s increased sales of 27.5 per cent.

There was success too for its hotel chain Premier Inn, with chief executive Andy Harrison commenting that the results were good and that the company is on track to achieve its five-year growth milestones. Indeed Premier Inn is planning to increase its inventory by 7,000 rooms to 65,000 rooms by 2016 after a successful advertising campaign fronted by comedian Lenny Henry.

Meanwhile, Costa hopes to add 350 more outlets to a line-up that already boasts 2,200 outlets worldwide.

Coffee that doesn’t Costa-lot

A quick look at the food and drink voucher code section at Moneysaver.ie however, suggests that Costa could face some stiff competition from some relative unknowns in the caffeine sector that are making an aggressive bid to attract custom with some serious discounts sure to tempt any coffee lover.

Among them is Coffees of Hawaii – with a host of Coffees of Hawaii voucher codes currently available at the website. For example, there is a voucher code offering 10 per cent off all orders at the website – as well as free shipping on all products: this offer expires at the end of May. Or, if you’re in the market for bigger savings then how about 23 per cent off 8oz Hawaii Expresso Moloko I Style, which is down to just $9.96 and also includes free shipping (voucher code expires on June 30). Further savings include 10 per cent off all wedding favours orders; 10 per cent off Coffees of Hawaii gift tins; and a 10 per cent saving on Kona Coffee.

It certainly gives you a great chance to try something new without breaking the bank – and it could even prove to be a long-term investment as the tastes may be so good, you might prefer to stay at home with your brews instead of venturing to expensive coffee shops. Other companies offering coffee voucher codes periodically at Moneysaver.ie include: Home Brew Online, Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee and Caffe Britt, so be sure to check back for deals regularly.
